- The Squashing Pumpkins are a tribute band to the Smashing Pumpkins, formed in November 2004 by Kevin O'Shea. They started practicing in December of the same year as a 3 piece with Barry O'Shea on guitar, Phil on vocals and Kev on drums. By April 2005 they were a full line with Ellen O'Reilly on bass and Jagger Murray on guitars. Since then they have been on the gigging circuit on and off and have played in places such as the Voodoo lounge and the Hub, both in Dublin. Damien Kelly replaced Jagger on guitar in July 2006. Their set consists of a varied mix of classic Pumpkins songs stetching from their first album 'Gish' all the way up to 'Machina/The Machines of God'. The band give an authentic representation of the Pumpkin's music and try and stay faithful both in the sound and arrangement of the CD versions of the songs.
