      My best memory of actually watching the racing dates as recently as 2002, my mate and I took up position at the 11th Milestone, just near the gate, on the bank. Anyhow, two young Irish lads came up next to us and asked if it was a good spot to watch; my mate and I sort of shrugged and said it was "pretty scary" so the lads took a seat beside us. The first racer on the road was DJ, we could all hear him coming along Cronk-Y-voddy, then he came into view on one wheel only feet away from us before pitching it in to the right hander at full tilt (about 160/170). My mate and I were laughing that nervous laugh you get when you climb off the roller coaster, I turned to tell the two young lads that I told them it was scary, only to find them gone. They had both been so scared, sure that Jefferies was coming over the bank at them, that they rolled backwards out of the way and would not come back to the top of the bank.
      The racers are truly awesome, and they still scare the shit out of me after 10 years!

    • 2 Weeks In June

      Two Weeks in June.

      Counting down the hours, like kids on Christmas eve.
      Is the TT really here, I believe I believe I believe.
      The bales are in position, Bushys tent is back.
      Do anything to get there, resign retire get the sack.
      There's mist up on the Mountain, damp patches under the trees.

      A dream fulfilling parade lap, but will Valentino resist.
      As he cruises along Glenclutchery Road, can he control his wrist.
      Once bitten by the TT bug, we know he'll be back for more.
      Hey Valentino how about TT2010.? 'Er yes.. I think-a for sure'.
      Riders wait at the start line, nervous sweaty and hot.
      Fans jostle their way around the course to find their favourite spot.
      Guy Martin screams past unflustered, so cool he'd charm birds out the trees.
      His bike sucks the rabbits from hedgerows, while his sideburns flap in the breeze.
      If my God offered me anything, the Sun the Earth or Moon.
      There's only one thing that I'd want.. just give me 'Two Weeks in June'.
