This is my blog....
I am a very strong heiltsuk woman 35 years young and a very proud mother to Rory, Randall and Patricia. I was born and raised here in Bella Bella by my late mother Viola Martin and My late Father Edward Martin Sr.
I moved home to work & live with my parents 4 years ago & My parents have since passed.The times my children and I shared with in their home i will treasure forever.
I learned so much from both of them, my mother whom was the back bone of our family she was such a strong independant woman. She was beautiful, humble and had a heart of gold; one of the most valuable lessons i learned from my mother was that to never take anything for granted and that at the end of a hard day deal with it and learn from it, and to start fresh everyday regardless!
My Dad was such an inspiration to me, although he had several health problems he never ever allowed them to get the best of him, his strength was admirable, even when he was in pain he would be smiling or telling stories or making us laugh. One great lesson i will from my dad was to always release what is bothering you, and infact him and i sat down on a daily basis and aired out as he would say, he said in life there will be many dread knots but it is how you deal with it, that will matter in the end. After our conversations he would always say now tell me something happy "babe" and that is exactly how we would end our conversation on a happy note.
Life without them has been a struggle, but with the support of my wonderful siblings we are all getting through it, one day at a time.
Next June 2007 we will be honoring the life of my parent's at a tombstone potlatch and i invite all those who are dear to me to be there. Maria.1 Comment 339 weeks
