- After seventeen years living out in the sticks in Scotland, I jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire and moved to the redneck capital of the world Aberdeen,to study Art. This was a complete blast but obviously a total waste of time careerwise,on leaving Art School I quickly realised being a starving artist isnt nearly as cool as it sounds and I went into a long line of dead end jobs,usually pointless but always different. From casino hostess to forklift driver,from The Braes of Glenlivet to The Red Sea theres not many things I havnt given a go. At present Im a Chalet Chef in the Alps,normally I spend my time in the Italian Dolomites but I`ve worked in France and Austria too-hopefully next year it`s Colorado then on to NZ,fingers crossed.

Mike S7/7/07Hey Mel, Good to hear from you again. Sorry for the abhorent lack of haste in the reply. This is due to two main factors: 1 - you caught me at a real busy time & 2 - I'm pretty crap at replying generally. How's things? Sounds all good if you're getting away from the rain. Things here are all a bit discombobulating, within the last couple of months i've worked on three carnivals, made & done four different puppet shows, built a set for a circus show, been booked to perfom at upcoming festivals & events & spent last weekend putting up, looking after & taking down a circus tent during a festival. How did all this happen? You may ask, it's all the fruits of lying & blagging for years. It's been great, Belfast's a great wee place. Do miss Glasgow though, but, hey, them's the breaks. How's things with you these days? Still snowboarding? You teaching yet? Hope it's all good love mike
