Disappointing adventure epic that centres around a headstrong young warrior in a remote mountain community who's one true love is kidnapped by murderous marauders.
This film could have been an intelligent portrayal of a time long ago but instead it is a CGI fest that falls flat on many levels. First off, the acting is terrible - the lead actor has about as much expression in those eyes as a toilet seat. The always dependable Cliff Curtis struggles to find depth in a character that has none and Camilla Belle does little more than stare at the camera with those freakishly blue eyes. The films only charm comes from the children and men of the 'afican' tribespeople who inject more personality into their few line that the whole headlining cast put together,
The script is to blame for that though, Disbelievably to the point of ridiculous, the story plods along from region to region, ending up in the blazing hot deserts of Egypt where great wooly mammoths solve the mystrey of the pyramids - haha!
To add insult to injury they throw in a bit of death and resurrection for good measure - like we even care by that point.
On the plus side its great to watch a film minus the blood and guts that dominate so many films these days. Its lighthearted fun and set in an era we so rarely see on the big screen, THroughout the film I kept drawing comparisons with Jean M. Auel's Clan of the Cave of the Bear and thinking how it could have been done better (now that would be an excellent film but only with the dedication of someone like Peter Jackson). The effects were pretty snazzy too (except at the end when they collapse under the weight to live up to their ambitions).

THis film bombed at the box office, was slaughtered by critics and divided viewers. Watch and decide for yourself - expect to be disappointed and you wont be!

By far the BEST actor around at the moment. He gives himself 100 percent to his projects and he's extremely talented. By fave actor of all time. Check out
* The Machinest - spooky and disturbing you won't believe how much weight he lost he is literally a walking skeleton!
* Batman Begins/The Dark Knight - he brings darkness and extra weight to a character thats been destroyed over the years from disasterous portrayels by Val Kilmer, George Clooney and Michael Keaton.
* Reign of FIre - I still LOVE this film! Its a great dragon flick!
* 3:10 To Yuma - hes got a wooden leg, greasy hair and a hillbilly accent but hes still totally hot in this one!
* Empire of the Sun - one of my favourite films ever made. Its a Steven Spielberg war epic and the first film Christian stars in and he is a revelation. He carries the film and gives it charm, and a beautiful childlike innocence.
* Rescue Dawn - some people have thought this was boring but i loved it! Really made you think afterwards. All the cast do impressive work here. Its a good drama thriller about life in a POW camop in Vietnam.

As for the stuff in the news recently, come on! We all get into fights but how convenient this comes out on the eve of the biggest grossing film of all time hits cinemas! And it was written in a tabloid paper!

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS - even the most bitter person will find their heart melting when those chipmunks start singing!! This is a gorgeous, funny and well made comedy combining computer animation with real people and GREAT songs!!! Definately watch this one!

PRICELESS - with Audrey Tatou, who is amazing, THis is a french Breakfast at Tiffany's at I LOVED IT! Its funny and gorgeous and full of expensive things!

WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY - the funniest movie ive seen in a while. see previous review.

PS I LOVE YOU - quite possibly one of my favourite movies of all time! the ultimate lvoe story.

THE KITE RUNNER - a beautiful haunting film - if you dont mind subtitled movies then give this one a go its good.

STEP UP 2 THE STREETS - personally i thought this was better than the first, with a tighter storyline and the dancing is HOT! if this doesnt inspire you to get up and move, then nothing will!

THE WATERHORSE - This is a kids movie but its so well made and tenderly acted that your heart will melt - and that waterhorse is adorably! although its also bloody terrifying as a grown animal!

THE BUCKET LIST - ohhhhh this is so sad!!! With these two actors in a movie you cant really go wrong and this film manages to combine comedy and drama beautifully - and the awesome locations they visit are great too!! Definately watch this one!

JUNO - out next month i LOVED THIS MOVIE! Ellen Page as Juno is probably the best new talent ive seen in a while and her one-liners are crack up! Definately watch this one!

GONE BABY GONE - Excellent. Written and directed by Ben Affleck, this film is an excellent thriller that i highly highly recommend, Twists you wont see coming!

THE DARK KNIGHT - OMG this is amazing! And HEath LEdger is incredinly terrifying as the JOker. Everything about this movie is AWESOME!
