In the Sangheli culture, a name is a privialge. For example "Ado \'Mortumee" is a Elite name, "Ado" is simply his name givin at birth. "Mort" Usually representing an adverb like "fast" or even "deadly." "Umee" simply represnting his stand in the Elite military.

The Covenant military promotion is by merit. A Covenant soldier must succeed to advance. Success is often measured in scalps. A Covenant of "Admiral" or equivalent rank, may have personally slaughtered thousands of individuals.
