- Me, Myself, and I
- I have been married 19 1/2 years to my husband, Jason. He is a very calm, patient, and understanding person who has put up with all my ups and downs most of time very well. I have to say that I have put up with his quirks too and we have had more ups than downs. We have two sons; Chris who is 19 and Nick who is 16. Life has been very stressful for the last couple of years but I think it is finally calming down. I am looking forward to retiring in another 4 1/2 years. Jason and I are making plans and while nothing is set, its a lot of fun thinking about it. I live near my entire immediate family with the exception of my sister Debbie who lives in Albuquerque and my niece Candice who lives in Seattle. We are a very close family and while sometimes that can be overwhelming, its also wonderful to be so close to those you love.
- Music
- Bruce Springsteen & the E St Band, #1 of course. Pearl Jam, Bush, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Warren Zevon, and U2 are very close 2nds. Love The Who, Stones, Dylan, The Pretenders, too many more too many to mention. Can't stand Britney, Mariah, Jessica, Celine, can't stomach that stuff. I'm fond of blue grass, the true country music. Johnny Cash, Jimmy Buffett, those country guys who think outside that formulated box. Love the blues, any and all. Dig Motzart, Hayden, and Debussey.
- Films
- Again hard to settle on just a few. But I'll try to put down my top 10, in no particular order. Bringing Up Baby; The Thin Man movies; The Star Wars movies including episodes I-III; the Lord of the Rings triology; Matewan; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; Chocolate; On The Waterfront; Big Fish; The Kids are Alright. But there are so many more favorites....love the movies! Nick this one's for you--Shawn of the Dead.
- Sports
- Love Nascar- trucks, Busch and the Cup, Boogity Boogity Boogity, Lets Go Racing! Love to watch baseball but can't watch it too much or will become obsessed. Same with football. Frankly I can watch anything. Love the competion. One of the favorite things Jason and I did when we first started seeing each other was watching Tuesday Night Roller Derby, can you believe it?
- Drinks
- I drink too much diet soda, trying to cut down but I think its addictive. I love ice tea, no sugar. Just found a new love of Newman's Own Limeade. Love hot mulled cider (or wine). As far as alcoholic beverage; love a mimosa on Christmas morning. Rum and coke with twist of lime is my fav, not quite the same Rum and Diet Coke but what can you do? Like a good dark beer such as Guiness but when its really hot any ice cold beer will do but prefer Harp.
- Art
- Love original art. I prefer to have original pieces from unknown artists than reproductions of famous artists. That said I would not turn down the gift of an original Van Gogh. Van Gogh is my ultimate artist. What a genius. My goal is to retire and do only art, don't care if no one else likes it, just want to do what makes me excited.
- Books
- Love, love, love literature. Most of the classic novels are wonderful. Kids say they hate them just because of the word classic. So I think we should just lie to them and once they start the book they won't be able to stop reading. Also love mind candy. Sorted into classic and modern are my favs
CLASSIC: Wuthering Heights (love those Brontes)Look Homeward Angel; East of Eden; Silas Mariner; Dickens-who can pick just one of his stories but if I have to The Christmas Carol. Modern novels/novelist; Steven King is the King no doubt about it he will be considered a classic novelist, every thing he has ever written AND if you disagree you are a book snob! Patricia Cornwall and her Kay Scarpetta novels are wonderful, can't wait for her to sell to the movies. Peter Straub and Clive Barker. Mists of Avalon is a book the touches my soul. Have to say that while I hate and abhor his politics Tom Clancy writes a compelling story. Starting to get into some non-fiction stuff; The People - TV
- Ok I have to admit it, I am a reality TV junkie. I don't know why it is so compelling to me but its like a car wreck or something. I know I shouldn't watch but I can't pull away. So there is is, I love Survivor, The Amazing Race, The Real World, and Project Runway the best but I'll watch Big Brother, the Apprentice, Brat Camp, Real World/Road Rules Challenge and just about anything else. I can say that I have never watched the Bachelor/Bachelorette or any of Temptation Island. BUT real programming is good too and my current favorites are still ER, CSI (any of them), Without A Trace and I do like Desperate Housewives. My all-time favorite TV show is The Pretender and Hamish Macbeth (both in TV heaven). I watch the Pretender every morning while getting ready for work, even if I have seen the episode before it is still fresh. Love it and Michael J Weiss, have a cutie pie!! Now I am crushed the new line-up for TNT has left the Pretender off the network. I'm am having to great fo

Do you know what Christmas movie this is from? Actually it is not a scene in the movie, but they talk about this....
Candice Windom 0 RepliesNot too difficult. But have a good Christmas!
Love Candice
I'm cold tonight and watching Dr. Zhivago on TV. I'm inspired to draw something cold. (Like my onion topped dachau?!)
