Toronto 2: The Scotsman Returns
It occurred to me this morning that I probably should log on here and recognise the fact that I’ve moved to a new country. I’ve been living in Toronto for 10 days now, and the strange thing is that it feels like I’d hardly been away at all. Bear in mind, it’s been two and a half years since I last visited here on holiday and a good three and a half years since I actually called Toronto home.

Seven Weeks and Counting
Winter in Glasgow is a strange beast. One day you’ll have glorious sunshine and that kind of bracing cold that you don’t mind walking around in as long as you’ve got a warm coat and a scarf. The next, like today, it’ll be dark and miserable and with a cold incessant drizzle that seems to seep into your very bones. The first kind of day makes me love winter. The second makes me hate it. It’s starting to feel like we get more of the second than the first.
Of course, I’ve not got much longer to wait before I get plunged into an even deeper and darker winter. The bright lights of downtown Toronto await, along with the streetcars, snowy sidewalks and minus 30 degree cold. I fly out on the 28th of January, and the date is looming large in my mind.
