Who all is in the band?
Sean Bushell on vocals and guitar, Shane ‘Harron-Dogg’ Harron - lead guitar & vocals, Niall ‘El Capitan’ Timony - bass, vocals and beard and George ‘Dodger’ Henderson - starring as lead drummist.

Where did you get your name from?
George: We all have birthmarks that when placed side by side spell SKITZO so we felt it was the logical thing to do. We discovered this one magical night in Boyle (seriously) when Shane and George shared an intimate moment and noticed they had the "SK" and "IT" marks....the rest is history....

What are your influences?
Sean: We like such a wide range of music…
George: We try to keep our music good humoured and upbeat as we think that people have enough doom and gloom during there week without hearing a band playing depressing music when they are out at the weekend. As individuals we take influences from every corner of the music world: Indie, Rock, Country, Latin Bieuwbs, Blues, and Hip Hop. But our two biggest influences would probably be Big Del and Big Tom closely followed by Big Bird. Shane is mostly influenced by the money.
Shane: Shane rejects that comment regarding his fondness of money in return for his musical services and as his solicitor I am obliged to warn you that any further remarks of this nature will be widely discredited... Na I loves the money!!!!
Sean: our biggest influence collectively is probably alcohol...

Where does the inspiration for your own songs come from?
Usually when we go for band walks on the beach together we hold hands and just wait for the songs to find us.
Niall: or if that doesn’t work we usually find something from the dark depths of g's mind.
Shane: Once a year George takes a trip deep into the Congo to find himself and usually comes back with some pretty deep and meaningful lyrics...these usually don’t work out and we end up writing about women and booze.

What has been your biggest success to date?
Sean: I suppose playing live in Vicar Street for the 2fm song contest final is the highlight so far.
George: Playing at the Nash Halloween Party with Mr T as guest vocalist was memorable as well. Appearing on TG4 was cool too though...
Shane: The Halloween night was cool...Mr T still wanders the streets of Donegal and can be seen every second Saturday of the week muttering something about not getting on a plane...
Niall: Getting out of bed this morning... I struggle with my passion for sleep.


Has anybody ever told you that with your good looks and talent you could have made it as a very successful boy band? No. Niall has a beard and tattoos so we just couldn’t market that.
Shane: I think Niall could be the next Bad Boy of pop!! Move over MJ

How long has the band been going? The band was formed in late 2001/early 2002

Proudest moment?
Shane: Definitely when Dodger told Gerry Ryan he smelt like shit before going on stage at Vicar Street.
Sean: Yea, that was a brilliant weekend. Rick O’Shea was really cool, he did an interview with us and Shaneo discovered that you can’t wave on radio.

How many roads must a man walk down before you can call him a man? 43

Any big gigs planned? Niall: Bogfest '07'... man that is gonna be crazy.
George: Nothing too major at the minute but we have a funny habit of ending up out of our depth without much warning so you just never know!!!

What is your feeling about the music scene in south-west Donegal? George: There is a very healthy young music scene in the area that people tend to overlook. There are at least five venues with live music to suit young people every weekend in Donegal Town alone, and this is something that much larger "thriving" towns do not have.
Sean: There are lots of great young bands floating about; it’s great to see it.

Who scores the most women? We respect women as equals and would never discuss our personal lives in such a basic manner.

well people that evil multinational gilette seems to have gathered some pace as i have just discovered their plans to launch a 5!!! bladed razor..... yes folks you heard me right not four but five blades....the bastards...... but wait what is this, flip the razor round and we have a solitary blade from trimming those troublesome areas????? the only troublesome areas i had when shaving was actully being able to afford their fuckin products!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so the hookers are actully disquising a six bladed razor as a five bladed!!!!!!!


oh and it fuckin vibrates too.........the cunts!!!!!!

Sean Bushell: News reporter by day... Rock frontman by night.. bit of a Clark Kent. Sean has been performing for 43 years now and has had facial hair since he was 6. He is generally heavily influenced by Bukkie, JD, wine or his new love Sangria.

Shane 'Harron-Dog' Harron: young, beautiful, sexy,talented, did we mention extremely dangerous?? ok well he's not really unless intoxicated! been playin guitar for bout four or five years and has made revolutionary slide sounds with a mixture of glass and candle wax! wanna see how? go see the band live!!!!!!!!

Niall 'Captain' Timony: A retired pirate who once plundered a Budweiser boat singlehanded. He is a rocker through and through with influences from Rory Gallagher to The Wombles. Niall sometimes has to be gagged at Live Skitzo performances as he has a Potty Mouth.

George 'Dodger' Henderson:Rugged non boy band looks with beats running through his muscular body!!!! They say he is twelve foot tall and can shoot fire balls through his eyes... OK all the above is not true. HAHA... Been playing drums for nearly ten years on and off and brings a good vibe and energy to Skitzo's live performances. Influences include Stewart Copeland, Travis Barker and Ginger Baker!
