The Knock Back
Yesterday I had a really bad knock back in a job interview, I was Dragged out for what seemed like a formal interview when I got there I was greeted by the man who would maybe be my knew boss he asked some questions on what kind of welding i could do and as we did this we walked around the shop floor it was a sheet metal job I.E Stainless cabinets for medical equipment, so as I told him I could I got the distinct impression he never heard of my qualifications and that if he never heard of them then they were irrelivant. I left with a hand shake after the 5 minute tour with the knowledge that I did not get the job. May be it was the fact that he never looked at my resume or was it he never looked at my certificate to prove that I am a Internationly coded welder with seven years experience in the trade.However the anger I felt did not come right away as it was only when my recruiter Roxanne (wonderful woman goes that extra mile for people which is so rare these days) calls me back asks how it went.I said "I cant be sure" she said she would call me back and 10 minutes later I get the call apparently he got the impression that i wasnt welder. I coludnt belive it I wanted to punch something or some one I was not happy But however Roxanne gave me a phone call today and said she set up a weld test with a engineering firm friday. So you know every cloud has a silver lineing and all that Faithfully Yours
