- Me, Myself, and I
- I'm a good old fashioned struggling musician, half way through 4th year at Napier University, Edinburgh, studying Popular Music with Drums. I was born and bred in Inverurie, and lived in Aberdeen then Edinburgh for 5 years, and currently I've been dragged back kicking and screaming to my mums house cos the cash has run out and it's time to pay it back!
Life is getting less mellow by the day - 4th year is nuts, and I'm teaching drums for the Chalmers Mackay Music School in Aberdeen every weekend, the same fine chaps who put me through Grade 7, and thus into Uni. Oh, I have a degree in drums now! How cool?!
Also I spend too much time playing with computers and games and roller skates and helicopters and yoyo's.
Check out www.eddisonmusic.co.uk, and if ur on myspazz http://www.myspace.com/eddisonsound. Our next gig is sometine in the future. My contract stipulates that I be there.
- Things I like;
- Careful now, it's about to get geeky in here. Computers and music software are cool, Halo 3 is cool, drums are cool. I like a lot of British tv comedy, the Simon Pegg/Bill Bailey/Steve Coogan crowd. I live on a healthy diet of south park, which is wreaking havoc with my vocabulary. I live to make music. I'm a raging yoyoer. Yep, everyone else got over it when we all had one in 98, but I took it a little bit far (See my video box). Skill toys have been entertaining me recently - mainly the yoyo, Diabolo and juggling. Oh and also all the resident evil games are my favourite video games of all time. Bar none. I bloody love shooting zombies. I should get out more, admittedly!
- Scared Of
- Wasps piss me off. And celery is rubbish. Also zombies. Bam!
- Weapons of choice;
- Dif-e-yo Bare Bones Night Blue edition, Hspin Pyro no. 528.
- Qoutes
- "I live loops, sleep snares and breathe beats." Mike Skinner/The Streets

The Simpsons are out to get me.
Son of a bitch!
Here I am, actually doing some uni work, and I decide some background Simpsons would be nice. So I fire up VLC, load the Simpsons playlist and hit the shuffle button. "No problem - I've seen them all before". I think to myself. "It'll just play away in the corner of my screen, no harm to anyone."
The first episode that came on, however, is a new one to me. It's also a very good one. Why would you do this to me now, VLC? Why, whenever I've started a Simpsons shuffle before, have you mocked me with season 1's, Grandpa vs. sexual inadequacy, and the halloween specials? Haven't I seen enough of them?
And now I'm writing a blog instead of an academic work of genius! Is there nothing so mundane that I wont do it instead of my essay?!
The offending episode is season 14, episode 18 - Dude, where's my ranch?
What a jerk. Don't watch it. It's good.
My point is made and clear.0 Comments 309 weeks

re-sit.
I am currently rewriting my world music essay, and it blows to the max most supremely!
Academic writing eh? Stinky stale facts I read somewhere else then wrote in my paper for the benefit of who exactly?!
This sucks! I'm on one of the most creative courses there is, and I'm not allowed to be creative with this!
But if I don't get it right I don't get to do fourth year..
Boooooo! I'm off to dry my eyes and get a big glass of water to help swallow my pride!0 Comments 310 weeks

Denial
I've been putting it off for 69 days. Writing the blog was something I did in australia, and it seemed like writing one back here would be like admitting that it's over.
Turns out it is over - it's been over for nearly 2 months. Boo to that.
Anyway I've done it now, and you've read it. Unlucky!
Guess I'll go dry my eyes now.0 Comments 350 weeks

Rhona Lyall8/16/07Rurie eh!? Must be a bit of a nightmare to get back to after town? An army of mini mikes sounds dangerous!
I work for an offshore services vessel company called ADAMS, everything's in the gulf of Mexico, Texas and Saudi/Bahrain. It's pretty laid back which is definitely good for the first proper job after 5 years of uni! Ha ha!

Rhona Lyall8/15/07Congrats on the drumming, good to be doing something you love I bet. Can't believe the band are still on the go
, you based in Edinburgh now then? Yup finished uni and went to work for the evil oil industry, in crewing so it's quite interesting and easy peasy money so all's good. Aberdeen's same old and unsurprisingly it's raining but generally life is good.
