ok so a wee update to all who are interested....
There are no longer any cockroaches in the oven, they've been replaced by a stream of ants who walk in an impeccably straight line towards all traces of food
We went to a traditional Hungarian folk dance class last night and strangely had the best night we've had here! Actually was unbelievably much fun, I danced with a tall old man with a moustache who wore bright orange jeans! Never been so tired though - we were ashamed that old men had more stamina than three 21year olds! (There was also a man who looked VERY like sideshow bob and he was quite scary...didn't like dancing with him)
Have to get crackin with my history essay now the holidays are here, can't leave it any longer...the others are out shopping at the Westend and I'm sittin in workin - it's getting serious! :S
Still loving teaching English at the school. I've learned more here in a few weeks than I have in three years at Stranmillis (though I suppose that wouldn't be difficult!) Can't believe we're over halfway through now...really gonna miss all the wee kids!
Weather here is still disappointingly cold, had snow a couple days ago!

I'M IN HUNGARY!!
Hey i'm soo excited, finally got the internet sorted in my room tonight (a task that proves almost impossible when NOBODY at reception speaks English - i keep getting shouted at and i dont know what for! All i can say is 'Nem ertem'!)
Anyway...the three of us (Me, Allleeeson and Chaaarleeene) have been in Budapest now for nearly two weeks - so hard to believe. The time is totally flyin in, we're havin a lot of laughs but also a lot of work. The school we're working in are soo excited to have us, they think we know everything there is to know about teaching english...and i dont have a clue!! hehe. They'll find out tomorrow when i mess up their english lessons! Its good though, but we're gettin a bit fed up with our routine of uni, teaching, lesson planning, food shopping and cooking in a kitchen where people cook cockroaches in the oven! We'd love to have more time to socialise, but during the week there's just no chance. I also have to read two 500 page Hungarian history books at some stage..hmmmm...
We were really excited to discover theres a Tescos here! Disappointingly none of the food is the same as home though which is a wee bit sad. Anyone taking pity on me should send a large bar of galaxy, sweet chilli crisps and some tetley tea (did you know that European countries just dont drink tea like we do?! Its a sin! I need good, normal tea, none of this weird fruity nonsense!)A British magazine would also be good.
Anyway, i shall leave you now and get to bed cos i start teaching at 8am tomorrow...tram takes an hour so I'll be up at 5.30!! WOOHOO!

Peter Thompson10/24/08hello Rachel. its really nice to hear from you. i am home this weekend. yeee. i am at both Newcastle and Sundeland doing business law. its my final year and its been fantastic. i am working part time at the courts as part of course doing tax law and i love it. its what i wanna do. i have been sooo busy over the summer also running christian camps and sports camps all over Ireland. i cant wait to start earning my own money hehe. ooh your gonna be a teacher cool. what you hoping to teach and what level? all my cousins are teachers and so thought i break the chain he he. i seen Cassy at a crusaders event but i haven't seen anyone else. do u keep in touch with them. look forward to hearing from you. if u are free we could try and arrange something if u want to go for coffee and catch up. peter
