Went to Tinaroo on the weekend, for my 19th birthday Par-Tay. We stopped at Yungaburra markets, they have everything you could possibly want or need. We bought a baby chicken and named him Bernie. He didn’t last much longer than the car ride from Yungaburra to Tinaroo; he became yabbie bait.

By night time it was fucking FREEZING!! and that is no exaggeration. I had football socks, ugg boots, trackie dacks, 3 singlets, a cropped jumper, my school jersey and then another jumper on top of that. PLUS I was sitting around the camp fire with a doona on my legs.


The night started bad for me, I burnt my hand on a light bulb, fell off my chair and landed on a Jim Beam can, and then I passed out at roughly 1am. Which is a good 3 or 4 hours later than when I passed out on my 18th and 17th. But

Waking up the next morning was hell, if you thought the night was cold, the morning wind was like having cold icy water poured all over your skin the moment you woke up.

I realised I am a really bad driver… I nearly crashed like 4 times on the way home and ALMOST got busted by cops for speeding.

What a weekend!!

It’s not that disgusting really; I will let you make up your own mind

In telling this story I have to give you some background information on past occurrences with my cat.

When my cat catches rats, she will make a hole in its stomach and then proceed to only eat the internal organs of the rat, and she does this ONLY to rats, no other animal. If she kills like a mouse or bird she will eat the whole thing, but not with a rat.

So this morning, after sleeping in, I walked out my front door and there right in front of my foot was a dead rat. Now usually I leave it for someone else to pick it up, but I know my Bf has a weak stomach and wouldn’t be able to pick it up (but he can amputate a guinea pig… ANOTHER STORY.)

So as I bent down to pick it up I noticed that it’s insides HADN”T been eaten but were still removed from the body and there was a nice round hole in the rat where his stomach used to be. As I picked up the rat I then saw that the insides of the rat were still connected by the end of the large intestine and as I proceeded to pick the rat up I also managed to hang his internal organs about 10cm away from his body (Picture on Whiteboard.)

Now honestly, I have never seen that happen with ANY animal that I have ever owned, and if you know me you know that I have a lot of animals in my house and most of them kill things. The strangest part though, was that the internal organs were not damaged, they weren’t bleeding, and they didn’t even have a scratch on them from being pulled from the body.

So there is my gross and disgusting story…
