' Oncoming Storm

If I should die, think only this of me; that there's some corner of a foreign field that is forever England.

Me, Myself, and I
            Henry Plantagenet

He is beloved and he is feared, and he walks among his people armed with cold steel and kind words. There is a massacre ready behind his eyes and war written on his body. He is above honour but not deceit, for though he fears no evil and will bow to no god, all others must or suffer his wrath. He hunts for glory like lesser men hunt for freedom. Maps of his lands roll out beneath his fingertips, and with his eyes closed he can trace every line of the blood, love and dread upon which he builds his empire. He knows his land and his people as a sailor knows the tide. Fate’s fickle fingers cannot drag him to the shadows, for his will is the stronger. He is to become the architect of a new world, written in among the dire myths of those gone before. Oblivion is his only fear.

He is Alexander, he is Caesar; he is war, he is conqueror.

The Other Half Of Me
- Lionheart.

- Lionheart.

you have my permission not to love me.

     Here is my hand, my heart,
my throat, my wrist. Here are the illuminated
cities at the center of me, and here is the center
of me, which is a lake, which is a well that we
can drink from, but I can’t go through with it.
I just don’t want to die anymore.
    From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother;
                        i’m just a ghost on the highway of fallen kings / there is no war if you’re already dead
for the warriors who fight until their bones break, their chests rip open, and their last breath is drawn

  • #things we need to talk about

    so a lot of the time, I make jokes about having FEELS~ about Henry V (and I mean the real one, not Shakespeare's myth) but there are things we need to talk about

    he was apparently pretty close with richard who his father then deposed and arguably had murdered

    his father's kingship was entirely unstable and he didn't have any political power

    he took an arrow to the face at age eighteen

    two of his closest friends tried to kill him

    he didn't really have any good examples of kingship

    its no wonder he burnt himself out at 35
