About Me

Tagline
There is no "I" in "Team", but there are four in "Platitude-Quoting Idiot".
Me, Myself, and I
They are always watching, always listening, recording everything. So I sing into the phone sometimes. Perhaps it cheers them up.
The Other Half Of Me
David Feeney
World Peace
The man at the shop told me the plant's spores would stop racism.

I think I got jewed.
Plan ahead
My mother always said, "A life needs solid plans."

But really...

... a life needs secret plans.
Global Warming
When the ice caps melt, I'll be ready.

With my waterproof valentines.

My scuba gear for kittens.
:)
Another terrorist strike, and the news tells me I should be afraid.

But the sky is so empty and beautiful.

Life is good.
Regrets
As a kid I killed lots of animals. Not for any rush, but because they seemed so sad, and I didn't know what else to do.
More regrets
A bag of cheap fireworks, and an offhand remark... about popcorn chicken.
Who am I?
Sometimes I look at myself and I think, 'truly there must be a God.' Only a celestial being could create something as wonderful as me.

Some days I think I am God, and those are the most magical of all.

  • Eclipse: Heroes Convention Thoughts

This blog is posted elsewhere with pictures and videos and things, but it's on a site that's in beta stage just now so I can't link to it. I'll post the text here, but don't blame me if bits don't make sense without the videos or pictures. Aaaaaaaaaaaand begin.

On Monday evening, Zoe, Simon and I returned from a long weekend away in Northampton at the world's first exclusively Heroes convention. Rather than jump around from event to event, I should probably go through chronologically.

We left Dundee on Friday morning at about 11am, with the Sat Nav claiming a 7 hour journey to our hotel, plus a slight detour dropping Sarah off in Edinburgh on the way. The Sat Nav kept losing signal around Edinburgh, and didn't seem to know where it was going. That coupled with the standard Edinburgh traffic meant that we didn't even get out of there until about 3pm - not the greatest start to the holiday, especially with the Sat Nav saying 'At the next opportunity turn right, then right, then right, then right again' which would take us right back to where we were!

Eleven hours after we started though, we arrived at the Travel Lodge in Northampton. We managed to get to the first party, themed 'High School USA' (Go Wildcats!), for about 10:30pm which wasn't too bad - Zoe in cheerleader outfit, me in casual clothes, a transformers t-shirt which resulted in me being called Starscream by a few people and Simon in normal clothes.

The guests came and mingled around the hall for a while just generally chatting to people, until some overzealous fans began hounding them for pictures and they had to leave - booooo. There's always someone who has to go too far. I didn't get a chance to see them there that night, we'd arrived too late but we were told about it... or I read about it in the forums, one or the other.

The party was a blast, with loads of people dressed in school uniforms, or as geeks or jocks, even a few teachers! Also, one catholic schoolgirl;)

On Saturday, we turned up at the Park Inn for the first day of photoshoots and autograph sessions. It was pretty fantastic - because it was staggered over 2 days, and there were only 800 people there, there was much more time to stand and chat with the guests, unlike at most conventions where you get a signature and made to move on without even so much as a hello. All of the guests were extremely pleasant, all of them asked what we wanted written on our autograph photos, all of them asked where we wanted it, what colour pen, the works - so lovely. Well, they did for me - Simon and Zoe were in a differen group because I booked my ticket earlier, so I got mine done at different times (Parkman's Patrol as opposed to Simone's Sorority).

Sendhil (Mohinder) was looking down while he signed my photo and was just making small talk, when he suddenly looked up and said 'Where the hell are you from Kenny?' because of my strange, undefinable accent. I told him Scotland and he mentioned that he'd done some plays in Glasgow and Edinburgh. David Anders was absolutely insane. Words cannot describe his insanity - so random, so funny, so awesome.

Nothing felt rushed and I think everyone went away from the signings extremely happy with the experience - certainly better than any other signing experience I've ever had, or anyone else on the Eclipse forums has had before either.

    Timeline Room Again (image here)

We spent some time in the 'Timeline Room', which was a recreation of Isaac Mendez' apartment in the future, after future Hiro has put up all the threads of time to work through. It was an absolute work of art, and I could have spent hours looking at everything in it - the two girls who did it put in an enormous amount of effort, kudos to them!

    There was an hour br

  • Valentine's Statistics

Mmmm, because love and statistics should always go hand in hand.

The population of the UK is approximately 59.8 million.
Of those, roughly half are men (29.9 million).
Of those, 19% are under the age of consent and 16% are past it (60+).
This leaves 19.435 million blokes who are potentially sexually active in the country.
Unfortunately, 34% of these are single.
Of the remaining 12,827,000 men who do have a partner, 25% will forget to buy their significant other a bunch of flowers.
This leaves 9,620,000 men who are going to get their end away tonight in Britain.
The average volume of ejaculate is about a teaspoon, or 4.261ml.
Which means that the gentlemen of Britain will, tonight, generate over forty four thousand litres of sperm.
Doesn't it just make you so proud?
