  • Football world cup 2010 Johannesburg - History in South Africa

    Football world cup 2010 which going to be held in South Africa is full of lots of excitement and fun. It is the 19th FIFA world cup, which is going to take place between 11th June2010 and 11th July 2010. The qualification process for this event had started in August 2007 and involved 204 of the 208 FIFA national teams.

    South Africa has started preparations for hosting this event. It has created a history that an African country will be hosting this tournament first time ever. 32 teams are participating in this soccer world cup. Not only the host country has started preparations, but the participating countries are preparing themselves for this grand event.

    Thirteen venues has been chosen where the matches will take place, these include Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg (two venues), Kimberley, Nelspruit, Orkney, Pietersburg (also known as Polokwane), Port Elizabeth, Pretoria (two venues), and Rustenburg. Airlines have reduced airfares at a large scale thus, by providing cheap flights to Johannesburg.

    There is an assumption that around 75,000 visitors will travel to Johannesburg to watch football matches from UK. Maximum travel consolidators and agents are offering cheap flights to Johannesburg, which also includes direct flights to Johannesburg from UK. Sports lovers can enjoy these matches by landing to Johannesburg directly by taking cheap flights.

    For non-sports lovers this city offers a lot to do and see that includes Johannesburg Art Gallery, Johannesburg Planetarium and the Apartheid Museum.
