Premier League of Darts Week 14, Nottingham: Wade, Whitlock and King qualify167 weeks ago
James Wade made the play offs of the Premier League after an 8-5 victory over Terry Jenkins. In what was a spirited perfomance from Jenkins, who was all but destined to finish bottom of the league, the first 6 legs were held with throw. After the break however, Wade came flying out of the traps, breaking Jenkins throw before holding his own to make it 5-3. The next four legs were shared to leave Wade 7-5 ahead and one leg away from the match. He broke Jenkins throw again to achieve victory and eventual qualification to the Premier League play offs.

Raymond van Barneveld continued his resurgance to some sort of form to defeat Ronnie Baxter 8-2 to deny Baxter a place in the play offs. van Barneveld was consistent throughout, going 6-1 ahead with Baxter missing far too many darts at doubles. He did take the next leg but it was to be his last as van Barneveld secured the next two legs for his third victory in a row.

Finally, both Simon Whitlock and Phil Taylor were both impressive in 8-1 wins, Whitlock against King and Taylor against Lewis. Whitlock produced a fantastic 104.60 average, missing only one dart at a double, with that being at the bullsye whilst Taylor was reasonably consistent throughout with both winners never really having to raise their game due to the poor level of performance from the opposition.
