"♥OOC - Shooting Fire Star♥"
|Starfire - Blackfire||3/23/09|
|Powers: Starbolts, brute strength, laser eyes (following her Tamaranian transformation stage)|
Voiced by: Hynden Walch
Starfire was born and raised on the distant planet Tamaran before arriving on Earth and joining the Teen Titans. The Tamaraneans are an emotional race who see feelings as the force that drives their very livelihood. In fact, it's their emotions that fuel their natural abilities of flight and starbolt power. Because of this, Starfire is inherently the most sensitive of the Titans.
Starfire's only family of which we know is her older sister, Blackfire. She was cared for as a child by Galfore; no mention is ever made of her parents.
Starfire came to Earth as Koriand'r, alien princess being transported by the Gordanians in exile as a slave to the Citadel. Through the use of her innate Tamaranian strength, she broke free from her prison and landed in Jump City. While attempting to free herself of the handcuffs with which she had been laden, she ends up both destroying buildings and cars, and running into four young teenagers with whom she would later fight crime.
It is Raven who suggests that fighting may not be the answer, and only then does Robin notice the handcuffs. Carefully, he talks Koriand'r down and takes off the handcuffs. In thanks, she grabs and kisses him, and warns him to leave her alone if they do not wish to be destroyed. (This falls in line with how Tamaraninans in the comics learned language through touch, and suggests Starfire simply felt like kissing Robin as a preference.) Once freed, she sought out food in the form of popcorn and candy at the local video store.
Having been tracked by the Titans, she reunites with them and fights off the wave of Gordanians sent to recapture her. Angered at Lord Trogaar's promise of destruction, she yells at Robin, reminding him that she told him to leave her alone. The two get into an argument, but the situation is quickly defused and the decision made to work as a team to save the city from the Gordanians' particle weapon.
Having infiltrated the ship, she "brings a-pol-o-gy" and thanks him for the kindness shown. The five fight and defeat the Gordanian horde and Lord Trogaar. As the team stands on the island which will become their home, she finally tells them her name, in English, "Starfire," and asks for permission to stay on Earth.
Her clothing at the beginning of the episode was identical to that of her sister, Blackfire, suggesting this may be the clothing of Tamaranian royalty. At the end of the episode, she changes into what we have seen is civilian clothing (see "Betrothed"). It is this outfit which she wears for the rest of the series.
Starfire has not had many episodes devoted to her. Her nemesis is her sister, Blackfire, whom, through jealousy or simply out of spite, is always trying to get rid of Starfire.
Her first scheme involved giving her sister a Centauri Moon diamond. Blackfire knew the Centaurians were after her, and giving her sister the diamond made them mistake their identities. Blackfire also seems spiteful and possibly vindictive, as she slowly befriends all the Titans, endearing herself to them through sharing dark poetry and playing video games.
Seeing her sister getting along so well with her friends, she decides to leave Earth, sure that her sister would be a better Titan than she. Robin catches her as she is leaving, asking why she hadn't said goodbye. Before she can say anything, however, she is captured by the Centaurians, arrested for high crimes throughout the Centauri system.
Realizing the case of mistaken identity, Starfire seeks out her sister, who just so happened to have been leaving Earth at that exact moment. During their confrontation, Blackfire asserts herself as having always been stronger, faster, and all around better than her sister. With a cry of "not anymore!" she takes her sister down for what is apparently the first time. Blackfire is arrested and not seen again until "Betrothed."
Starfire was the first to befriend Terra in season 2, and one of those hurt most by her betrayal. While angered at Terra for this and for exploiting her natural lovingkindness, she still wished to help Terra at the end of "Afterhock Part 2," and stated at her memorial service that she would miss her.
In season 3, Blackfire reappeared again, sending a message to Starfire that she would return to Tamaran in order to be married. Having not been to Tamaran for assumedly four years, she has been "having a bit of the sick-home feeling," and wished to see her planet dearly. Her happiness at her homecoming and reunion with her k'norfka, Galfore, are cut short when she finds Blackfire had escaped from prison and become Grand Ruler of Tamaran.
True to her nature, Starfire is willing to sacrifice her happiness to do what is right for her home planet, agreeing to marry Glgrdsklechhh because she believes it will stop the apparent war going on.
When it is discovered that the exalted Schlurch of Drenthax IV really does not have an army parked outside the castle, Star challenges her sister for the crown. The two once again fight, and once again, Starfire is victorious. Wishing to stay on Earth, she appoints Galfore as Grand Ruler.
She acquired a pet moth, Silkie, from Beast Boy in season 4, whom she loves dearly, and frequently takes on walks around the castle. The two also dine on Zorka Berries from Tamaran whenever they can, as it is Silkie's favourite food.
While Robin sought out what was left of Raven in season 4, Starfire stayed with Beast Boy and Cyborg, fighting first Trigon and later, the most evil part of herself. While Starfire is caring and kind, Starfire's evil self is cold, calculating, and vindictive. None of the Titans could defeat themselves, and it is she who figures out that they could defeat each other's evil selves. It is Starfire who defeats Cyborg's evil self, while Beast Boy defeats her evil self.
In Season 5, it is Starfire who befriends the young Russian, Red Star. Lost in a snowstorm, he rescues her and the two bond over a traditional Russian soup. True to her nature, Starfire wishes to help Red Star use his powers to help the village and wants him to come out of his self-enforced isolation. Knowing he is truly a good person, she defends his honour against the insults hurled by General Raskov. After Red Star defeats the creature, he asks Starfire to take him to space because of a change occurring inside him. While Red Star burned brightly as a red star in the sky, she was convinced he would come back and return their kindness "...someday."
In "Calling All Titans" she delivered Argent's communicator to her and was the one to respond to Argent's call for help. Though she was too late to help Argent, she was attacked by Kitten and Killer Moth, the two of whom took great pride in their act of revenge. She, however, was not captured and resurfaced with Red Star and others at the Brotherhood of Evil's hideout in Paris, helping free her friends and taking part in the final fight against the Brotherhood.
Starfire is naive and somewhat insecure, but her naivete is not to be mistaken for stupidity. Though it is this naivete that endears her to others, especially to Robin. She and Robin are the closest out of all the Titans, and he takes time out to explain the ways of Earth to her. An alien and an outsider, she is still rather new to Earth and its customs. This leads to much confusion for her and others, such as the awkwardness in casually drinking mustard. She takes friendship very seriously, and is easily distressed when others, especially her friends, argue or fight.
She is arguably the most social of the Titans, regularly meditating with Raven, or lifting weights with Cyborg. Above all, she wishes to be friends with everyone she meets, and for everyone to get along.
Starfire's personality changed dramatically from her first meeting with the Titans. In "Go!" she demonstrated her immense power and strength as she escaped from the Gordanian ship. While others saw rampant destruction without a cause, Robin saw her trying to free herself from her handcuffs. As mentioned above, it seems Tamaranians learn language through touch, and having gotten what she wanted from him, she leaves him with a warning to leave her alone, knowing full well that the Gordanians were still hot on her trail.
As she fought against the Gordanians with the four other young heroes, her personality calmed dramatically, and she eventually apologized for the destruction she had caused during her escape.
This change in behaviour suggests Starfire truly was, at heart, the friendly, warm-hearted character we had known since the first episode. The reckless behaviour seen in the beginning of the episode might lend some credence to why Tamaranians are so feared throughout the galaxy -- their strength is not easily matched. It also proves that Starfire is much, much stronger than she lets on and, when the time is needed, she's not afraid to kick a little butt.
While naive, she is extremely perceptive, and was the first to realize Robin was Red X. When the other Titans got angry, she kept her cool and scolded him calmly and rationally. While knowing he and Slade had similar personalities, she refused to believe he had gone to be Slade's apprentice of his own accord, spending hours looking for him in "Apprentice Part 2." Later in the episode she states that she "cannot live in a world where they must fight," showing that she values her friends more than anything.
Her relationship with Robin is extremely important to her, and throughout the series she and he have continued to bond.
While she at first got on Raven's nerves, the two have become closer friends as the series has progressed. Their first major moment of bonding occurred during "Switched," when the two found themselves in the other's body. Having to learn to adapt to each other's powers, they were forced to learn about each other in order to help save their friends from the Puppet King. Since their switch, the two have become closer friends, spending time meditating or conducting seances.
Starfire is also good friends with Cyborg, with whom she lifts weights, and Beast Boy, from whom she acquired Silkie.
Powers: Flight, starbolts, laser eyes

Blackfire is Starfire's older sister, and former Grand Ruler of Tamaran.
Before she became Grand Ruler, she was a bit of a nomad and wild child, traveling all over the universe, getting into trouble wherever she went. During her first visit with Starfire, she brought her a Centauri Moon Diamond, causing the Centuauri Police to mistake Starfire for Blackfire. After Robin realized what Blackfire had done, the two sisters fought until Blackfire was arrested.
Her latest scheme involved taking over the throne of Tamaran and having Starfire marry Glgrdsklechhh, ruler of Drenthax 4, in exchange for the Jewel of Charta, a gemstone that would multiply Blackfire's power until she was nearly invincible. The two fought once more, and Blackfire was dethroned and banished.
Blackfire was one of the only villains missing from the lineup of the Brotherhood of Evil, suggesting that she was not out to get all the superheroes, or even the Titans, but simply to take out only Starfire. It is also possible she still sits in jail, this time in a prison that can hold her.
Though she is Star's older sister, the two are polar opposites. Blackfire loves thrills and causing trouble and does not seem to be remorseful about anything she's ever done. The two do not exactly get along well, as Blackfire is constantly trying to, in some way, do away with Starfire, first with getting her arrested and then trying to marry her off to an ooze monster. Blackfire loves fighting her sister, and not just fighting her, but rubbing in the fact that she is older and stronger in her little sister's face. The two of them are poster children for sibling rivalry.
|Starfire is the outsider among a group of outsiders. From a far-away planet, she has come to Earth with little knowledge of Earthly ways and culture. For her, everything is a brand-new experience: from eating cotton candy to going to a party. She is the most sensitive member of the group - even trying to understand the motivations of the aliens and villains the Teen Titans must foil. Starfire can fly and disable her opponents with powerful energy blasts.|
Starfire was prisoner to an evil race of lizard-like aliens known as Gordanians. Once free of her alien captors, Starfire made her way to earth. Able to absorb the English language through a kiss with Robin, Starfire soon made earth her home and joined the Teen Titans.
My Tamaranean name is Koriand'r
Powers - Starbolts, flight, brute strength, laser eyes
Starfire appears in the Teen Titans Animated Series, voiced by Hynden Walch. She is the only Titan in the series who does not have a season focusing on her own storyline. Instead, she has her own storyline scattered in different episodes throughout all five seasons, in which she deals with her arch-foe and sister Blackfire (also voiced by Hynden Walch), the responsibilities of being a princess, and her insecurities about being an alien on Earth.
Starfire was born and raised on the distant planet Tamaran before arriving on Earth and joining the Teen Titans. Her race, the Tamaraneans, are an emotional race who see feelings as the force that drives their very livelihood. Their emotions fuel their natural abilities of flight and superhuman strength, as well as Starfire's starbolts. Because of this, Starfire is inherently the most sensitive of the Titans. The animated Starfire also has the ability to travel faster-than-light without a ship (first mentioned in Divide and Conquer, and used in Transformation).
Starfire's background also has some similarities with her comic version. In the episode "Go!", Starfire is held prisoner as a "prize" by a group of Gordanian slavers, working for an interstellar power known as the Citadel. She manages to escape and flees to the closest planet, which happens to be Earth. Starfire runs into Robin and the other soon-to-be Titans who help her fight off the Gordanian forces pursuing her. After the battle, Starfire elects to stay on Earth with the Titans.
This version of Starfire is nave and somewhat insecure, but her naivete is not to be mistaken for stupidity; it is this trait that endears her to others, especially to Robin, who takes time out to explain the ways of Earth to her. An alien and an outsider, she is still new to Earth and its customs, which serves as a recurring source of comic relief. This leads to much confusion for her and others, such as the awkwardness in casually drinking mustard as a soft drink, or sleeping with her head hanging off the foot of the bed and her feet on the pillow. Presumably because English is not her first language, Starfire speaks without contractions, and misuses idioms (e.g. "Kick the butt!" as opposed to "Kick butt!" or "The mall of shopping" instead of "shopping mall"). Additionally, she uses several Tamaranean nouns, such as "bumgorf" (term of endearment), "K'norfka" (parent or guardian), "klorbag" (insulting term), and "shlorvak" (dream).
Starfire has a pet giant moth larva named "Silkie" in the series, given to her by Beast Boy. Starfire takes friendship very seriously, and is easily distressed when others, especially her friends, argue or fight. Above all, she wishes to be friends with everyone she meets, and for everyone to get along. Starfire will not, however, hold back on someone who threatens innocent bystanders or her teammates. Her usually optimistic and cheerful spirit also seem to be vital for the team's morale and coherence; in "How Long Is Forever?", Starfire is stranded in an alternate future twenty years later, where she finds the Titans disbanded and in deep depression following her disappearance.
In Teen Titans Go #46, it is revealed that Starfire has a younger brother named Wildfire - presumed in this case to be Ryand'r in his animated incarnation. When the Gordanians attack Tamaran, her parents sets up a ship to save him by launching him to another planet. Afterwards, Blackfire, in an attempt to make a treaty between the Tamarans and Gordanians, gives them Starfire as a slave (setting up her appearance in the episode Go). As a result of Starfire and Wildfire's absence, their parents die of a broken heart (which explains their absence in the episode Bethrothed according to the footnote of the comic). Wildfire seemingly comes to Earth to meet up with his sister, but he is revealed to be the shapeshifting Madame Rouge, who was aided in the deception by Blackfire. Discovering this, Starfire closes off all ties with Blackfire (stating that they are no longer sisters), and states that she will find her lost brother.
As an homage to the comic books, the series hints at the potential relationship between Starfire and Robin, in some episodes more heavily than others. Though she is very outgoing, when it comes to her crush on Robin she can be very shy and timid. Other episodes outlining the relationship of Robin and Starfire are: "Sisters", "Go!","Stranded" "Date With Destiny", and "Betrothed".
At the Teen Titans panel at Comicon 2005 in San Diego, Sam Register asked Story Editor Rob Hoegee if Robin and Starfire would ever kiss. "Pretty safe bet. But we're not saying for sure," Rob replied. In the season 5 episode "Go!" (a flashback episode showing how the Teen Titans became a team) Robin and Starfire's first kiss is shown; however, this was only for the purpose of assimilating the English language. In Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo, moments are shared between the two. In one moment, Starfire admits she truly wishes their relationship to be more; however, much to Starfire's dismay, Robin claims that they can't be anything more than heroes. Soon after, Robin states that he's learned they can be more without it hurting the both of them. Finally, Robin and Starfire share the "actual" kiss after the Ink Monster is defeated, making Cyborg remark, "Well, it's about time."

|Chapter 1: Shopping fun|
Robin, Raven, Chrissy, And Cyborg were all out at the mall shopping for Starfire?s surprise party. Beast Boy was in charge of keeping Starfire busy.
?How long do you think it will take before Beast Boy forgets his job?? Cyborg asked.
?I give him an hour,? Raven said in her usual monotone.
?you gotta give him more credit than that,? Chrissy said.
?Fine 61 minutes,? Raven said. Chrissy shook her head.
?I?ll go in about an hour and take over,? Robin reassured his team. ?if we?re not done by then that is,? he said.
?So we need a cake, presents and decorations,? Chrissy said.
?OK let?s split in to two groups,? Robin said. ?Raven Chrissy, you two get the cake,? He said the two girls nodded. ?Cyborg and I will get the decorations, don?t forget to get a present too,? he said.
?Friend Beast Boy where did everyone go?? Starfire asked as she got popcorn out of the microwave.
?They went out,? Beast Boy said. ?What do you wanna watch??
?The little Mermaid,? Starfire said it was her favorite movie.
?Ok,? Beast Boy said. He would have picked a ninja movie but he needed to keep Starfire busy, so he put The Little mermaid in.
10 minutes passed and Beast Boy got bored. He got an idea.
?Hey Star I have something I need to do you can watch your movie alone can?t you?? he said. Starfire nodded. Beast Boy took off in a jiffy. He headed to the mall. He was going to have some fun. He headed to the candy shop he had seventy dollars which he wanted to spend.
?Beast Boy,? Robin said into his communicator he waited silently for the changeling to respond.
?Dude!? He heard Beast Boy shout he whipped around as did Cyborg who was with him.
?BB man what are you doing here?? Cyborg asked.
?Shopping,? Beast Boy said holding up two shopping bags one half full of Candy and the other was too dark to see inside.
?Your supposed to be watching Starfire and make sure she does find out about her party.? Robin said anger clear in his voice
?I got bored and she?s watching The Little Mermaid,? Beast Boy said, opening a piece of candy.
?Cyborg you keep him under control I?m going back to the tower,? Robin said. Cyborg nodded. ?Tell Raven and Chrissy,? He said and he left.
?Dude what?s his problem,? Beast Boy asked opening another piece of candy and eating it.
?I don?t know, but it?s three feet tall and looks like a blade of grass,? Cyborg said.
?Oh,? Beast Boy said. ?Hey that?s not cool?
?Chrissy can you buy something?? Raven asked she sounded slightly annoyed.
?I don?t know what to get her,? Chrissy said they had been to six stores already. ?I want it to be perfect,? she said going through a clothes rack. Then she saw it. A cute red shirt that had Tweety bird on it. That said ?It?s never my fault? every letter was a different color.
?Is this for Starfire or you?? Raven asked.
?Uh?Star,? Chrissy said.
?We?re not here for your birthday, we?re here for Starfire?s? Raven said.
?Sorry,? Chrissy said and put the shirt back. ?Let?s just go before I get side tracked again,? she said. Raven nodded and the two left.
Robin entered the main room of the tower and saw Starfire watching The little Mermaid.
?Oh hello friend Robin,? Starfire said turning to face Robin.
?Hey Star,? Robin said.
?Do you wish to watch the movie with me,? Starfire asked.
?Sure,? Robin said taking a seat next to Starfire on the couch. Robin noticed the movie was almost at Kiss The Girl.
?So Cyborg what are we doing?? Beast Boy asked popping up all around Cyborg who was getting annoyed.
?Yo dude how much candy have you had?? Cyborg asked.
?I bought twenty dollars worth,? Beast Boy said looking in to his now half empty bag.
?And what you only got ten dollars worth left?? Cyborg asked.
?no five,? Beast Boy said. Cyborg groaned how did he get stuck with the grass stain.
?Oh you know what I?ve always wanted to do?? Beast Boy asked his eyes wide.
?What?? Cyborg asked.
?I wanted to ride a shopping cart through the whole mall,? Beast Boy said excitedly.
?No,? Cyborg said but too late Beast Boy had found a cart and took off.
?First we Got to create the mood,? Sebastian said pulling reed willow out like he was a music instructor. ?Percussion, strings, winds, words
There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don't got a lot to say
But there's something about her
And you don't know why, but you're dying to try
You wanna kiss the girl
Robin sat on the couch looking at Starfire. She was watching the movie intently. Robin gulped he knew he had feelings for Starfire but he didn?t know how she felt.
?Is something wrong?? Starfire asked noticing Robin was staring at her.
?a--nothing,? Robin said turning his head back to the movie.?Did you here that?? Prince Eric asked looking behind him. Ariel shook her head.
Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do
Possible she want you too
There is one way to ask her
It don't take a word, not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl
Sing with me now
Sha-la-la-la-la-la my oh my
Look like the boy too shy
Ain't gonna kiss the girl
Sha-la-la-la-la-la ain't it sad
Ain't it a shame, too bad
He gonna miss the girl
Starfire looked at Robin out of the corner of her eye. She saw him watching the movie with a bored look on his face.
?Are you sure nothing is wrong?? She asked.
?I?m sure,? Robin said. Starfire nodded and returned to watching the movie.
Now's your moment
Floating in the blue lagoon
Boy, you better do it soon
No time will be better
She don't say a word
And she won't say a word
Until you kiss the girl
Robin scooted closer to Starfire. He needed to know if Starfire liked him too. It was just him and Starfire alone in the tower there was no one to walk in on him and Starfire.
?Star?? Robin said. Starfire had just realized how close Robin was.
?Y--Yes,? Starfire asked nervously.
?I--I uh wanna ask you?uh?? Robin stammered unable to think clearly.
Sha-la-la-la-la-la don't be scared
You got the mood prepared
Go on and kiss the girl
Sha-la-la-la-la-la don't stop now
Don't try to hide it, how?
You wanna kiss the girl
Sha-la-la-la-la-la float along
And listen to the song
The song say, kiss the girl
Sha-la-la-la-la-la music play
Do what the music say
You wanna kiss the girl
?What is it?? Starfire asked.
?I??.uh?Wanna ?ask you if you ???
?Anytime would be good,?
You got to
Kiss the girl
Why don't you
Kiss the girl
Kiss the girl
Go on and
Kiss the girl
Without thinking Robin leaned in and kissed Starfire.
Cyborg pulled his communicator out. ?Yo Chrissy Raven,? he said into it.
?Hey cy,? Chrissy said.
?What is it?? Raven asked.
?BB?s on a sugar rush and he?s riding a shopping cart through the mall,? Cyborg said
Chapter 2: Shopping Fun Pt. 2
Cyborg, Raven, and Chrissy met up.
?Have you seen him?? Cyborg asked. Raven and Chrissy shook their heads. ?We gotta tell Robin,?
?Why we can catch him,? Chrissy said. ?And if we do tell him he?ll kill us,? she added.
?Weren?t you supposed to watch him?? Raven asked a brow raised.
?Yeah what does that have anything to do with this?? Cyborg asked.
?So we?re not going to get in trouble for this,? Raven stated, as she pulled her communicator out
?Come on Rae,? Cyborg said. ?I?ll pay you both 100,? he said.
?I don?t think so,? Raven said. ?200,? she said. A thought popped in to her head. ?And keep the grass stain away from me for a month,? she said.
?fin 200, but I can?t promise anything about BB,? Cyborg said. ?But I think Chrissy can do that,? he said smirking at the blush that crept across Chrissy?s face. ?I suppose you want 200 to?? he asked the blushing girl.
?For that comment yes,? Chrissy said regaining her composure. Cyborg gave them both 200 dollars and the three set out to find Beast Boy. they found said boy riding a cart straight for the escalators.
Without thinking Robin leaned in and kissed Starfire. Starfire leaned in deepening the kiss. Robin was relieved that she wasn?t freaked out. He pulled away when the need for air was to great.
?Starfire,? Robin panted.
?I know,? Starfire said smiling. ?I love you too,? she smiled at him.
?Ok then go on a date with me tonight,? Robin said. Starfire nodded. ?Ok so 7:00,? he asked. Starfire nodded again.
?Beast Boy,? Cyborg said getting the green teens attention. Beast Boy stopped.
?Hey guys guess what?? he said jumping off the cart as it fell down the escalator.
?What BB?? Raven asked in her usual monotone.
?Some guy called security on me,? he said, pointing int the security guards heading this way.
?I?ll handle this,? Cyborg said. He walked over to the two guards. After a few minute he walked over to the other three. ?Ok we have to go and we can?t come beck until we get BB under control,? he said. ?and atleast for a month we can?t come back,? he said.
?Great Robin?s gonna this,? Raven said sarcastically.
?So who?s gonna tell him the good news?? Chrissy asked.
?I say Beast Boy,? Cyborg said.
?Me too,? Raven said.
?Why me?? Beast Boy asked as the four headed to the nearest exit.
?Because this is all your fault,? Raven said. Cyborg nocited for the first time Raven was carrying a box.
?So you got the cake at least?? he asked.
?Yes,? Chrissy replied for her sister.
The movie had finished and Starfire went to her room to feed Silkie. Robin was just relaxing for once. Thinking thing were going to work out. Starfire still had no idea about her upcoming surprise party, tomorrow, and the other would be home in about an hour. The door opened he turned around and grew annoyed. The others were back and by the looks of it all they had was the cake.
?Where are the decorations?? he asked getting up from his seat.
?Ok, dude, I kind of got us kicked out of the mall,? Beast Boy said stepping up.
?What?? Robin said.
?well you should know better than to let me have all that candy,? Beast Boy defended himself.
?You have to get the decoration tomorrow?s the party,? Robin said. He wanted this to be perfect. But things never really turn out the way you plan do they.
?Oh yeah the Titans East should be here within the hour,? Cyborg said remember his chat with Bumble Bee earlier.
?You tell me this now?? Robin said trying to keep his anger under control. ?Go get rooms ready for them,? he ordered. The four nodded and left not wanting to hear Robin yell. Robin fell back on to the couch tense. ?does god hate me for some reason?? he thought to himself.
