So The Sims 3 is coming closer and closer, its getting exciting,
i want to know what YOU think what should be in TS3 Leave your comments below for your ideas

Here is some more info about TS3M thanks to snootysims
(these are from an interview)

Will families that you don't play get older, get children, die, etc?

This was the most asked question and yes it is true; Families you don't play, just live out their lives behind your back. I asked if there was a way to stop the aging for those families through a cheat. They didn't want to give an answer to that so it may still be an option.

Can fire burn the entire house down?

I don't think so. Ben Bell set the house on fire with a special object and though the flames quickly spread, I didn't see the walls caught on fire.

Is an internet connection mandatory for game play?

No, an internet connection is not required to play the game.

Is it true that if you have a weaker computer your town will be smaller than of those with a strong computer?

Though I did read this in a preview, Ben Bell was very surprised with this question and said something like: "Ofcourse not, that's ridiculous! Where did you hear that?!"

Can you add roads in your neighborhood?

No, you can't. There will be a Neighborhood creator available a few weeks after the game, but no details about that yet.

Can you follow your sims to school?

Yes you can! They will disappear into the building but you can surely see them travel to it.

Will there be a tool for users to create custom content?

There will be a tool to create new textures for the game. There was no info about an external CAS tool, but it's highly likely there will be one. There will be no tool to create entirely new objects though.
However with the in-game Create-a-Style, you have a very powerful tool at your hands. Nearly every object in the game, from cars to tv's, to chairs to closets, everything can be recoloured and re-textured. You can apply different types of fabric like wood, paint, brick, etc, then change it in every color possible. Let's say you chose a white/red blocked plastics on a couch. You can then use this specific combination on every object in the house just by simply dragging it from the tool to the object.

Is there long hair which goes all the way down to the butt, to both men and women.

There were not that many types of hair yet. There is long hair as you can see but for even longer hair, you may need to find it on a fansite.

Will there really be different career paths per career?

I don't know. Looking at this pic though, it seems there are some changes as your performance is measured differently then in Sims2. Like you need certain skills. Also the payment is per hour now. Though that may still change.

How will death and weddings be handled? Are they any different from the Sims 2?

Both will be very similar as Sims 2.

Are there any other creatures aside from Aliens and Ghosts?

They did say they have something special but didn't want to give details.

It wasn't a question, but to my surprise, there are 6 needs in the game! In former previews, there were reports of only 4 needs.

Will there be apartments/weather/etc?

No. Though most likely there will be some objects from each Sims 2 expansion, the big features from each pack will not be in Sims 3. So no weather, no universities, no businesses, no vacations, no... Well you get the point.

The grabber/hand. Is it just for small objects? Could it open doors, touch sims maybe (and i mean like pick up babbies).

No it's only to pick up stuff like plates, books, garbage, etc. It's meant to get rid of some of the boring tasks for your sims, give them more time to do other things.

Any new buildmode tools?

They didn't show much about buildmode. Only the new feature that you can move a wall with everything on it. But there sure is a buildmode! I assembled the buildmode panel together as I couldn't get it in one shot.

Can you change your traits?

Yes, but you need a certain lifetime reward for that. After aquiring enough Lifetime points, you may choose from around 20 rewards.

Any new movie making tools?

Yes there's a very powerful tool for that. With this tool, you can upload a movie and then shape it in any way. You can cut the movie into pieces, give it effects, make a title, transitions, cutting, pasting, etc. The only downside is that it all has to be done online. So it will be a bit hard for those with a slow connection. There is also a tool for screenshot stories.

Can you add freckles?

Yes, there's even a whole panel for that.

What are the system requirements?

You need a system a bit better then for Sims 2. But it shouldn't be much of a problem to run the game on a somewhat slow system. Final system requirements will be posted very soon.

More Info on The Sims 35/3/08
You might want to read this stuff. To get more familiar with
The Sims 3

- Seamless Nhood: Your Sim can visit neighbors, parks and shops without a loading screen.
- All the neighboring Sims will live their life and age simultaniously as your Sim (They'll get married, get jobs, etc).
- The game will ship with 1 Neighborhood.
- Several weeks after the launch, there will be a tool available to create your own Nhoods.
- That Nhood will consist of about 97 different lots.
- When the game is out, you can download towns, made by other people.
- All buildings in the Nhood can be interacted with, so no prop buildings.
- Confirmed community places are: Pool, Park, Bistro, Clothing store, City Hall and Bookstore.
- The Nhood can expand by users and/or by expansionpacks.
- You can zoom out to see the whole Nhood at once or zoom in to a single Sim.

- Personality sliders are reduced from 8 to 3, one being a Fun to Stress meter. Bladder, Hygiene, etc. are still there but hidden.
- Sims 3 have Traits. Choose 5 from around 80 types like Dreamer, Evil, Playful, etc. These Traits will affect how a Sim behaves towards others and affects their moods, like the mood of an Outdoorsperson will raise when he/she is outside. An evil Sim may slap another Sim.
- Traits could be passed down, and actions a Sim does during her pregnancy will affect the traits of her offspring.
- Moodlets instead of a moodbar. If something happens like a marriage, the Sim gets a moodlet. These moodlets will affect your Sims' mood and give abilities like learning faster. An example: Getting fired will get you a long lasting, big impact moodlet, while going to a small party will get them a short, non-dramatic moodlet.
- They will look after themselves better.
- Sims have certain skills like cooking or fishing.
- You can fulfil needs by simply clicking on an icon.
- Instead of fixed interaction (like Talk or Joke), the options are filtered on your current Mood or your Traits.
- Sims can aquire Dreams. Like if your Sim sees that a Neigbor has a big tv, your Sim can get a Dream to want one too. You decide then, to turn it into a Promise. Ignoring a Dream is ok, but ignoring a Promise gives you negative repercussions.

- You can follow your Sim in its car to work. You won't see your Sim working though; He/She will disapear in the building.
- Advancing in career is changed as it depends on skills, personality, relationship with colleagues/boss and even certain goals that has to be fulfilled. For example taking work home.
- Confirmed careers are Chef, Science and Military.
- Sims can take part-time jobs.

- Body can be shaped as faces were in Sims 2.
- There are sliders for weight and fitness.
- Arm and legs are seperate so you can have a fat body and thin arms.
- Sims you created fat, can become thin by exersizing, thin created people get fat by eating a lot.
- You can choose specific Asian and African models.
- You can choose a Sims' favorite color, music type, food, etc.
- Shoes are seperate and can also choose barefoot.
- Clothes are customizable from CAS; Change the color of a certain piece of clothes or use your own patterns.

- Sims can cook and fish. Buy groceries or grow the food yourself.
- The game has been made so that will also run smoothly on older PC's.
- Clothes, furniture and homes can be customized.
- You can use your own patterns/colours and then apply it to anything through a drag-and-drop interface.
- The game will have modding tools built into it.
- There's no online multiplayer
- You can pick up items (garbage, books, etc) yourself with a Hand cursor.
- Wind will move the trees.
- Paintings that a Sim makes, will be unique to each Sim. It's based on its personality and mood.

Things that will not change:
- Sims still talk in Simlish
- Sims can still pee their pants, die of hunger, etc.
- Confirmed ages: Baby, Children, Adult, Elder.
- There are still thought bubbles that tell which needs must be fulfilled like Hunger. These bubbles show in the control panel though and not hover over the Sims' head.
- Sims still have an inventory system to put things in like groceries.
- There will be expansions (duh).
- There are still same-sex couples and they can still adopt children.
- You can still design, build, and furnish a home.

if you have any info of your own. put it on here or on the sims log

thatks to Snooty Sims heres a little more info

A very beautiful small coastal town with several beaches and the hilly land behind it, extends into small mountains. In the center of the very idyllic city, there is a small park with jumping wells and lakes, surrounded with some public buildings, businesses and Cafs. Around the center of the houses, there is also some very modern art. Beautiful is also that they can be built directly at the beach or also in the mountains. Behind the hills is even a small agrarian area with farm with wheatfields and a plantation with fruit trees. The developers unfortunately did not want to say whether they are playable farms with appropriate functions or only neighbourhood decorations.

Since there will be a new aging system, the entire neighbourhood aging and developing together, they showed these effects on the population structure in a simplified computer simulation. Different factors and statistics were stuck at the basis, in order to balance birth rates, marriage frequency, movement of child-rich families to larger houses, etc. This way it is ensured that the population in the city changes regularly, but always remains stable. So there should be no fear of the Nhood becoming empty or overcrowded.

In gameplay mode, the first that is noticed is the changed interface menu. It's more clear and somewhat more elegantly to work with. But they are clearly recognizable as Sims menus and most information can be found in the same place.

In the Sims 3, there are only four needs, which won't play such an important role, so that you can concentrate more on pleasant and interesting things. The needs are seized together to four main needs such as recovery, hygiene, fun and hunger (the designations could still change). All needs hide behind these categories, like bladder urge goes under hygiene or sleeping under recovery. The four needs are only indicated as small symbols in the menu. If all needs are fully fulfilled, their symbol is green. If a need becomes more urgent, the color changes to yellow and red. When the color changes, simply float your mouse cursor over the symbol. Then a small window appears with more information explaining what the urge exactly is.

There are more interactions and play options for babies, pregnant women and elders. The life stages will be somewhat longer, but the exact length is not certain yet. Babies can be carried around in the neighbourhood but there are no baby carriages.

For those with slower PC's a possible option may be that the city size could be smaller. You cannot import sims from the Sims 2, due to the larger complexity of the Sims and the social structures.

In the CAS screen, you can choose favorites; Music type, food and color. With music there were five selectable styles and with the favourite meal 25 options. The favourite color is freely selectable.
Very nice is also the fact that these can still be changed and adapted to Sims after the creation in the game.

A flyer included with The Sims 2: Bon Voyage said: "Now your Sims can enjoy hobbies! Your Sims will have fun taking up a variety of creative, intellectual, or active leisure-time pursuits. They can even meet Sims that share their interests and expand their social relationships. Develop your Sims' skills while they pursue their true pastime passions. Will your Sims stumble reaching for new goals or find a new sense of fulfillment?"

Sims now have a wide range of new activity types, from sports to science to arts and crafts. New hobbies include basketball, soccer, restoring cars, ballet, and searching for alien life in outer space.
