|FRESH NEW MUSIC FROM YOUR FAVOURITE WELSH BAND, LIMITED EDITION EP STYLE. THINK BOAM FOR 2010.|
Releasing Your History Is Mine was a watershed moment for Funeral For A Friend. It marked the end of one era, 4 albums of which we?re incredibly proud, countless tours in every corner of the world from Swansea to Singapore, Nottingham to New York, Manchester to Moscow and Tyneside to Tokyo.
We wrote and recorded 4 new tunes with Gav for that album that made us incredibly excited for what this year and the future holds for this band. Wrench received the best reactions from Radio 1 in the UK that this band has ever had. We played some amazing shows and had the best time talking about the record and hearing stories from people that have been with us ever since Casually Dressed, and even Four Ways and BOAM before that. It?s a privilege to have your support.
2010 marks the start of new times. Good new times. And most importantly, those times involve you. As you?ll already know if you?ve been following us on Twitter (@ffaf) or checking out the MySpace or Facebook pages we?re deep in the middle of hatching plans and writing and demoing lots of new music. Back to basics. It?s truly sounding awesome. Some of it will end up on an album. But before that album sees the light of day we?re going to be releasing a BRAND NEW EP and circumventing the usual method of hooking up with a label, delivering it to them, waiting and then letting them put it out. We?re going to carry through with what we started with Memory & Humanity and put it out ourselves ? except this time things are different because we?re bypassing all the bullshit and making it cool, limited and especially for you.
FFAF & PLEDGE MUSIC
If you want to get involved and be part of helping us make this record, you?re in the right place. We've hooked up with the folks at Pledge Music to get this record done. We?ll be recording, mixing and releasing it starting in June and you?re invited. Check out the list of Pledges to see the ways you can get involved and get your hands on the music. There are tons. By Pledging you can ensure that you get a copy of the record as soon as it?s out plus whatever else you choose to get involved in. If you only want the music that?s cool. But if you want to get more involved, we can do that too. If you want to get on Skype for a chat we can do that. If you want to come to a rehearsal we can sort that. There?s lots more, check it out.
Remember, this will be a limited edition release, not available in the usual shops, and once it?s gone, it?s gone.
We?ll be posting Pledger-only updates to our Pledge Music page throughout the period and if you?re part of it you?ll have access to those. It?s the only place you?ll find them ? we won?t be posting these to any of the blogs or to YouTube etc.
As a final note, 10% of any profits from this Pledge release will be donated to charity, and we?ve chosen a couple of our favourites to nominate. PETA (www.peta.org.uk), Teenage Cancer Trust (www.teenagecancertrust.org), the Rainbow Trust Children?s Charity (www.rainbowtrust.org.uk). These have been chosen by us, not by our management, by Pledge or by anyone else.
Thanks for your love and support for the past 7 years and we hope that you?re on for the ride on the next 7.
Matthew, Ryan, Kris, Gav & Rich

Andrew Gosden (http://www.missingpeople.org.uk/arey... went missing from his home in Doncaster on 14 September 2007, age 14. He was last seen getting off a train at King's Cross the same day. He had just 200 with him.
Missing People (http://www.missingpeople.org.uk/) is a charity that provides support for missing children, adults and families left behind. They work tirelessly offering advice and support to those dealing with friends or family who have gone missing, securing publicity to try to help bring people back together and run a nationwide free confidential phone service for people who have run away or been forced to leave home and need someone to speak to.
With less than a week to go FFAF HQ has decided to run the 10k 'Miles For Missing People' (http://www.missingpeople.org.uk/miles) in Hyde Park on Saturday 13 March on behalf of the band to help raise awareness of Andrew's disappearance, and hopefully funds for the charity.
Andrew loves rock music and Funeral For A Friend is one of his favourite bands. If every FFAF fan registered as a friend or fan of the band on Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Twitter, Last.fm or any of the other social networking sites donated even just 1 the charity would raise a huge sum of money towards helping support people like Andrew, his parents and his family who haven't seen him for 2 and a half years.
Here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/funeral... is a photo of Andrew when he went missing. Some photos here (http://www.missingpeople.org.uk/arey... have been age-enhanced to show how he might look today. Andrew is 5' 3", needs strong prescription glasses and is deaf in one ear. Watch a BBC London news clip about Andrew at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehWTP....
If you know Andrew or think you've seen him out at a show, or if you've seen any other missing person, please call Missing People confidentially on 0500 700 700 to let them know.
If you?d like to sponsor me on the run to help the charity?s work you can do so at http://www.justgiving.com/milesformi....
Thanks for your support.
